Arekuna Camp.

Arekuna camp is located at La Gran Sabana, at the north to the National Park Canaima. Its installations are at a small hill fifty meters from the Rio Caroni beach. It is surrounded by forest Gallery that run all the way long from Rio Antabares which ends at the Rio Caroni and the Orinoco Savanna typical of the Macizo Guayanes mountain range. In this territory live the Pemones Indians of the Arekune tribe. At a few Kilometers from the camp there are Pemones small communities that live from the hunting, fishing, and agriculture, fruit picking and manufacturing of the handicrafts. From the Arekuna sight seeing spot you may enjoy the magnificent landscape of the Pemone sacred mountains called Tepuyes. These magnificent rocky formations are the most ancient of the world, due to it, the have acquired their characteristics caused by the continued erosion throught millions of years. For this reason the echo system that is found there is unique in the world and the landscapes are exceptional.

Instalations

The camp has thirty rooms whit private bath, distributed in a fifteen houses located around a small hill. The capacity of these rooms can be double or Triple, in addition, they are equipped with a hammock that allows to be occupied by a fourth person. The social areas include a bar-restaurant in the top of the hill and a reception center located in the outskirst of the landing strip. From the rooms, thanks to their large windows you may appreciate the sight of the Caroni River.

The camp was built taking into account the preservation of the environment and integrating the architectonic desing the encircling landscape .The distribution of the installations and the reduce number of rooms guarantee a stay of an exclusive atmosphere in concordance whit the natural caracter of the area.

You can choose different excursions from the camp, navigate along the Caroni River to see the Las Babas falls where there are petroglyphs of unknown origin, hike in the tropical jungle to see native flora and fauna to the lookout points where you can admire the Tepuyes in all their splendor, or visit the Indian communities There is also an optional excursion to the Canaima Lagoon.
