Places to stay.

Merida has heaps of budget places to stay a good portion of which are posadas or small family –run guesthouses. There are around 50 posadas in the city-more than in all major Venezuelan cities combined.

Furthermore despite the country s precarious economic climate and seeming glut of accommodations in town, new posadas are popping up every month.

Most travelers are perfectly satisfied whit the standards offered by the budget posadas, but should you prefer a decent hotel there s no problem finding one. Merida has quite a few hotels in this price bracket though most are mid price places whithout much luxury, there s nothing really very  post or expensive in town.
